Welcome to Lost Post. By creating an account and using the app, you agree to these Terms of Service.
1. Using Lost Post
Lost Post allows users to share text stories, prompts, and memories. You must create an account to use the app. By using the app, you acknowledge that you may see content created by other users, which may include opinions or ideas you disagree with. We are not responsible for user-generated content.
2. User Content
Ownership. You retain ownership of any content you submit to Lost Post.
License to Lost Post. By submitting content, you grant Lost Post a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, transferable, and sublicensable license to host, store, reproduce, modify, adapt, publish, display, distribute, and otherwise use your content for the purpose of operating, improving, providing, and promoting the Lost Post service, in any media or distribution methods now known or later developed.
Content Deletion. You may delete your content at any time through the app. When you delete content, it will be removed from the Lost Post service within a reasonable period, except where retention is necessary for:
- Legal or regulatory compliance
- Security, backup, or technical integrity
- Resolving disputes or enforcing these Terms
- Marketing or promotional materials created prior to deletion
Content that has been included in marketing or promotional materials before deletion will not be removed from those materials, but the content will no longer be displayed within the app.
Content Rules. You agree that:
- Posting personal information about yourself or others (addresses, phone numbers, company names, websites, or social media handles) is prohibited.
- Content that is extremely graphic, gory, or intended to shock or disturb is prohibited.
- Content that depicts, promotes, or glorifies violence, abuse, or cruelty toward individuals or groups is prohibited.
- Content that is harassing, threatening, hateful, or abusive toward others is prohibited.
- Content that depicts, promotes, or is based on illegal activities is prohibited.
- Violations of these rules may result in content removal or account termination.
- We may remove or restrict access to content that violates these Terms or applicable law.
Lost Post is intended as a reflective and respectful space, and we reserve the right to interpret and enforce these rules in a manner consistent with that purpose.
3. Prohibited Conduct
You may not:
- Post personal information about yourself or others.
- Post content that is extremely graphic, violent, gory, or intended to cause distress or fear.
- Post content that depicts or promotes abuse, harassment, threats, or hate toward others.
- Post content that depicts, promotes, or facilitates illegal activities.
- Use the service to exploit, harm, or endanger others.
- Spam or advertise without permission.
- Attempt to hack, disrupt, or interfere with the app or its services.
- Engage in illegal activities through the app.
4. Account Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts at our discretion for violations of these Terms or for any reason permitted by law. Upon termination, your right to use the service ends. Sections relating to licenses, liability, and governing law survive termination.
5. Paid Features
Lost Post may offer in-app purchases and subscriptions. All purchases are subject to the rules of the App Store. Refunds are handled according to the App Store’s policies.
5.1 Access to Paid Features
In-app purchases and unlocked features provide access to digital content or functionality within Lost Post for as long as those features and the Lost Post service are made available. We may modify, update, or remove features as part of ongoing development. If the app or specific features are discontinued, access to purchased features may end. This does not entitle you to refunds except where required by applicable law or the App Store’s policies.
6. Liability
Lost Post is not responsible for user-generated content. The service is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. To the extent permitted by law, Lost Post is not liable for any damages arising from your use of the app.
7. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Netherlands, without regard to conflict of law principles.
8. Changes
We may update these Terms from time to time. The updated Terms will be effective as of the date posted. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
